Name Isachev.Russian art painting.
The name of Alexander Isachev sounded with incredible force in the late 1980s.His work literally "blew up" the artistic environment of Belarus and became widely known far beyond the borders of the republic. A young, talented artist-innovator in his short life managed to become a real legend. He destroyed all the usual canons that existed in art at that time, and developed his own, well-recognized plastic language, created a "world of Isachev" unlike anything else. And yet, this is an artist whose work, it seems, has not yet received a balanced, impartial, unbiased assessment. Paradoxically, his painting has been causing one of two opposite reactions for several decades: either sincere delight, up to awe, or absolute rejection-In the professional artistic environment, this name is practically boycotted. But even when talking about Isachev, experts often use the words "too", "too much". First of all, he is accused of the fact that the paintings are "too popular with people." A priori, it is assumed that the so-called "elite", actual art should rather annoy, outrage the public, perhaps shock, but not like it in any way. Alexander Isachev's paintings are "too spectacular", "too beautiful".Indeed, the main cult professed by this artist, who knew so well the beliefs of different peoples, is the cult of Beauty. AndIsachev's works also give the viewer a sense of wonder — an allusion to "reality", "tangibility", which the old masters sought and which modern artists take care of very rarely. Instead of the bewildered exclamation: "I can do it too!" — which can be heard from casual visitors to exhibitions of contemporary art, questions arise: "How did he do it?", "How did he manage it?" Of course, the choice of such an artistic language — attractive, bright, catchy is not accidental. Alexander Isachev had an urgent need not just to speak out, but also to be heard — and not only (and perhaps not so much) by a narrow circle of "initiates", "chosen ones" And yet, despite the obvious decorative nature of Isachev's works, the painter can not be called salon or even more "pop". Firstly, his artistic manner is not as simple as some experts try to imagine. In his paintings, he demonstrates a good knowledge of the history of European painting (from antiquity to modernity), whichIsachev, who did not receive a professional education, comprehended on his own. To this was added the fascination with Eastern culture with its special sensuality, symbolism, its own figurative system and specific visual means (including a peculiar color palette, which can be inaccurately interpreted if viewed exclusively in the context of European painting). So, for salon art, the works of Alexander Isachev are, perhaps, "too" refined, intellectual, "too" saturated at all. Even with quotes-rebuses. with allusions, references, and prepared viewers feel that the "beautiful picture" of the master conceals many mysteries, and intuitively feels the desire to solve them. Isachev's painting is multi—layered - not only in form (in his favorite technique of layering, which he adopted from the Flemish masters of the XV-X VI centuries), but also in content (the artist skillfully strands signs and symbols on one another, weaving complex patterns of semantic meanings).
